A very beautiful pistol that needs care and attention much like any other pistol, to shoot well.
As for asking if they are any good, that's a little like asking if Ferrari make good race cars. Shooters with the Pedersoli LePage percussion pistol currently hold most of the world records for BP target shooting, and have done for many years.
Is THAT good enough for ya?

I've got one in .36" and I'd certainly agree that they are excellent pistols. Happy to try to answer any specific questions...
how often do you completly stripe them down for cleaning etc ?
do you get so many shots til it fouls up ?
just being watching these two, think most of my question have being answered

The biggest problem facing this country today is not the terrorist. It's the politician.
The Bosun's Watch
Nossir - by the time I got interested in another BP pistol, I was over my limit in this county. A friend of mine has the Kuechreuter pistol, and there are a few of the LePage style too in our club, so I have managed to shoot them over the years. Our local dealer has a few in stock, too.

I had one for several years but sold it to buy another Ruger. Still miss it. I used 16 gens swiss in mine and it was far more accurate than i will ever be.
Mate Ady has just bought one and hes well chuffed with it. More accurate than my revolvers but i just prefer six shooters. Cleaning was a doodle. Remove
the barrel and drop in hot soapy water. Rod out and spray with oil. Remove and clean nipple every other clean and hey ho, good as new.! Tim

They are superb, set and standard trigger. Mine is .36 cal and is more accurate than me with 9 gns of 777 (tripple 7 ) powder and patched ball. As for cleaning using 777 just take barrel off and rinse in warm water, run a patch through it followed by boiling water and let dry. Then oil/lube/spray with whatever takes your fancy, all done in 5 mins.
Mine came new with rod and muzzle saver.End of rod unscrews to allow brushes to be fitted. Pyrodex is as corrosive as black and needs the same cleaning. I have only ever used tripple 7 in it but i do use black and pyro in my musket.Kranks supplied me with a ball starter and i made a powder funnel and drop tube that takes powder right to the breech.I also knocked up a loading stand with slots to take the accessories which makes loading a lot easier.
now the proud owner of
ramrod with brass end that un screws,
long tube an funnel,
ball starter,
little powder measure,
other bits i got,
tub pyrodex
