Holts March Arms & Militaria Auction

I have just been viewing the Holt’s London Arms & Militaria Sale via the webcam to see how the air gun items fared.
There were a total of 15 air guns lots for auction this time with nothing exceptionally rare on offer.
Realised prices were generally towards the middle or top end of the estimated prices.

Some of the more interesting results:

600 Nice Boxed (B4) Webley “Mk1” Air Pistol with spare barrel £200
601 Nice Scoped .22 BSA Airsporter “Centenary “Air Rifle original case, sling etc £400
    603 Excellent .22 Webley Mk3 Air Rifle made in 1962 £260
    604 Fair boxed pre-war .177 Webley “Mk1” Air Pistol £220
606 Excellent pre-war .177 Straight Grip Webley “Senior” Air Pistol £340
    607 Refinished .177 Greener Air Rifle £420
    608 Nice pre-war .177 Webley “Mk2 Target” Air Pistol £200
613 Nice Bonehill “Brittania” Air Rifle £360

The above are hammer prices and as Holts charge 22.5% Buyer Premium plus VAT , roughly 25% needs to be added to the hammer price.

    Regards

    Brian

    Holts

I went there to view, I agree the Webley Senior lot no 606 was a good example.

I spent most of my time there playing with the de - act MP44 and being amazed at some of the colours of trousers being worn by some of the Gents there....

Congratulations on your new acquisition. From the photographs it looked like a really nice example of a rarely seen rifle.

    Hello,

Look forward to seeing the pictures and perhaps a few words on how it performs if you intend giving it a run out at the range.

The Webley Mk3 looked very nice from the Holt's picture, but I was still a bit surprised it made £260 hammer price which equates to about £325 with commission.

Was it an exceptional example ?

    Regards

    I will do
Always wondered what these rifles were like, ever since reading about them in Wesley's book as a boy.
Had intended to get a refinished BSA light pattern as a 'stockless oldie', but I think this will be far better!

Never looked at the Webley, so don't know, sorry.

Will be colecting it from their Norfolk base when I am next up there in April, so will be looking forward to that.
Also collecting a mint Mk 7 Airsporter that weekend!
