    innova breech

    Hi,

I've been stupid, I loaned my sharp out to what i thought was a trusty worthy relative. Apparently the breech was already cracked, but they noticed this after trying to move my scope/mounts forward (why they would do that, i have no idea). I've learned by my mistake, trust no one

So, from the phone call. I got this info, It's cracked underneath the scope rail from front to back. I haven't seen it yet, I can't face it today.

Just to ask, would i be able to plastic weld it. Or is it terminal for another scope to be mounted on! The breeches that chambers sell, I gather they are the 'copy' Innova ones, would the plastic be inferior?

    Thanks
    Andy

Regarding the Webley Rebel breeches that chambers sell, yes they are inferior quality and they will be marked as webley not Sharps, but .... at least you will be able to mount your scope and shoot your Innova. If you never intend to sell it then why not.
Regarding repair of the Innova breech, it may be possible to have it plastic welded by a specialist. Particularly a motorcycle repair specialist as they repair plastic fairing panels on a regular basis. You will have to re-cut/ file your scope grooves back in though. I don't know if this has everbeen done...?

The Innova breech/barrels that Chambers sell are for the Puma. They come with a silver insert with the name Puma on the side of the breech. Remove this insert with a sharp thin bladed knife and underneath you will see the original moulding "Sharp Innova; Japan and USA."
They are Sharp Innova breeches as far as I'm concerned; and for £29.50 they are excellent value.
Buy one; it'll be cheaper than having your broken one plastic welded.

Sounds like they were using the scope as a pump handle, looks like they owe you a new breech.

Thanks for that, very handy info to have.
MAW1 (mark) offered me a breech but money issues means I cant get it this week. So i've passed on it. Very kind offer by all accounts.

To be honest, I'm a little disheartened that this has happened. So I've stuck the gun in the back of my cabinet, out of sight out of mind!

The hole top of the scope rail has sheared off. The gun still pumps up but no scope can be fitted!

Thanks to all those who've replied.

I'd try good old araldite.if it bonds properly to the innova's type of plastic it'll be stronger than the plastic, you've got nowt to lose.
