Tough course the day. I struggled a fair bit in the woods, over ranged pretty much everything. 50, and my first ever contribution to a team score. Bonus.
Hi All
Feeling better now, having almost forgotten my score (which some comforting friends have told me may be due to my MPR 'cooking') and quaffed an ice cream and several pints of water.
My report after Round 5 at Buxted opened with the words “Wow; what a hot one!”, but I reckon that today beat it. While the Oakies had ordered up a very tricky breeze, capable of pushing shots almost anywhere but where you may have expected, this did little to cool us down. We really needed the half-way watering station and end of shoot ice cream van seen at Bisley’s hosting of the UKAHFT a couple of weeks ago. Byfold take note, please
In spite of the weather, today’s average score was more than a tad higher than at Buxted; in fact nearly 2 ½ points higher, at 45.7, and included some exceptional achievements. Most notable were Rudy and Sam’s 57s and all the other winners of the first of this year’s SIHFT Platinum Badges.
Here are the full results – in the usual format – and with the usual request for you to PM me if you believe you spot any errors or omissions.

Mentioned in dispatches above … the winners of this year’s first batch of Platinum Badges – awarded freely to those of you achieving 5 Golds – were Rudy Goldslade, Peter Goodwin, Charles Peal, Sam Robinson and Ryan Stennar. Very well done, guys, especially so early in the series and clearly demonstrating consistent high quality air-gunning.
Team Results – bit of a switch around at the top, between what must be two of the most competitive clubs in the county. I’m sure it will still go down to the wire ….. roll on Round 10 (is that why Swallows FTC are always asked to host it ?!? )

Round 7 coming up in two weeks, to be hosted by Ford HFT (good to see Sir Cutthroat back in the saddle today ) on Sunday 4th August.
Full results tables for the Individual Championship will be published AFTER Round 7, to begin to take in to account the ‘dropping’ of your lowest score (assuming you’ve entered Rounds 1 to 6).

Whoop whoop!
Lovely days shooting.
Very pleasurable company Steve as well as Lord (cut throat) Chase and Pat. All rather civilised. Broken only by Mike and Andy's squabbles.
Talking of which, Andy! Come here and and let us have our cheap laughs
You were right, Sam is bloody good, but I was also right.
Once again, well shot Sam and Rudy. Top shooting indeed!

Impressive 57 on that course!
Sussed what was wrong with my rifle! it was the bit that writes my score in the box whilst i curse the very ore the target was smelted from! SIMMMY
A big THANKYOU to all THE OAKIES for all your hard work and your good manners in not laughing out loud when BUXTEDS score was read out!
Did ANY Buxted boys beat Andy?....apart from Sam, or was 50 your next team score???
How i was saddened as i saw many a Buxted pellet 'sail' over a target that they had mis-ranged
Roll on Ford for their total humiliation....

Superb stuff Oakies, courses these days are mind bogglingly good - oddly it was the woods which got me this time.
I left the course completely bemused - who...what...where...how...but wasn't that...? But mainly just...eh?
Rudy and Sam - crikey, you chaps are good
Thanks for all the kind words today, sorry to those whom I bored with the story for the 50th time

Sorry me and the mutt had to go but he was getting far too hot in that field for a dog of his advancing years.
We shall return when the weather cools down a bit.
