I had one exactly the same, so I made a brass insert, interference fit, and reamed it to 3mm. This improved the rifle's recoil and made it more pleasant to shoot, whilst improving the power a little.
I have a Cadet Major that at some point in its history has lost the 'gauze' that used to sit in the transfer port. The rifle is of course .177 and if care is not taken when shooting because of the larger than .177 size of the transfer port the pellet can fall backwards into the cylinder.
I have never seen these 'gauzes' for sale at any of the spares places has anyone ever fabricated one to solve this problem?
OOPS! wrong forum, would a mod kindly move this to collectables please.
