    WANTED Abas Major

Hi fellow collectors, I know its a long shot but has any member an Abas Major pistol they would be willing to part with? I have been collecting for years but have never handled one of these until yesterday. WHAT a pistol, talk about firearms quality, this must be the best made pistol ever.
Although I'm a Webley nut I am going to put this pistol at the top of my wanted list for 2014.
    Thanks Paul.

    Hello Paul,

As you are probably aware, the first series Abas with the wooden grips is considered the most desirable although both the second and third series are also very nice pistols.

Mine is a second series bought at the Bisley Arms Fair a few years ago. I have seen at least three or four nice examples at Bisley over the recent years so hopefully one will come up for you soon. Expect to pay around £400-£500 for a complete and fully functional example, but well worth it.

    Good luck with the search.

    Regards

    Brian

    Hi Paul

My brother and me have recently inherited an Abas Major along with a selection of other guns. We're currently 'discussing' selling the Abas Major, ideally I'd like to keep it but he wants to sell.

I imagine we wil sell it and I will keep another as a memento.

    Hello,

BSA Magnum, Jumbo, HW & and Webleys etc but no sign of an Abas Major in your pictures.

I'm sure you inadvertently linked the wrong folder, but just in case, this is what is being sought.

Apologies Found Abas on page 2 thanks to Mick.

    Hi Mick,

Ooooooops (must be an age thing) ! Found Abas on page 2. As you rightly say, a lovely looking early example of this superb pistol.

Please make sure this remains a WANTED thread, chaps, and doesn't become an auction type sale on the back of someone's WANTED thread ... Many thanks, and hope you find one, Paul (am sure you will ).

    Cheers: Gareth.
