Cadet Major cocking link

Hi all - wondered if anyone could help... Been given an old rusty major - still shoots reasonably well surprisingly but the locking link/shoe is so worn it falls out of the slot in the cylinder so you have to hold it in to be able to cock the rifle

any ideas how to cure this? Was thinking I might try supergluing a small piece of plastic to the end of the lever and shaping to fit Any advice gratefully received!

That won't work mate. Get a gob of weld put on the end then file to shape. Or ...... just buy a replacement .

A new one is £31.50 off Chambers, plus postage... Think I'll have to ask around and find a friend who does welding
