I second the motion!
Perhaps we can also have a "fondlables" section in case anyone wants to entertain...
Apologies Mick, but since I nagged Gareth about this periodically it's only fair that I nag you too.
Can you please lobby on our behalf for the BBS admin to turn on the 'insert image' function in the BBS software that means when you post a hyperlink to a pic hosted elsewhere, it appears in the post? I see this feature is activated in the BBS's target section and maybe other sections too.
Other forums do it and it saves readers the hassle of having to follow links, close down windows etc, as well as making posts visually more interesting.
As you will remember, we had it when collectables was born but it was switched off soon afterwards, perhaps under the misconception that it cost JSR bandwidth - it doesn't of course, because the pic is hosted on a different server to the BBS's. I'm not talking about being able to upload pics like in the sales section.
Presumably a fear is that it will be a magnet for pornography, but since you have to be a BBS member to post anyway, is that likely? The rules could specify that posting lewd pics will lead to an instant 'holiday'.
I've been told repeatedly it won't happen, but not really why it won't happen. With respect, perhaps it's time for a change of heart?
Thank you.

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.

British Rail deployed just such a magnet in 1979, and it was used to clear railway sidings of the large dumps of 'nudey mags' that caused most of the stoppages and delays that beset the company during the 1970s.
Thatcher had the magnet, which was pushed by a deisel-electric shunter, broken up for scrap as she said that it was interfering with the 'market'.
Pleeeeeeeeese!
But it would make things easier. (Getting back on the main thread).

Thanks for posing the question, Mick. Fingers crossed.
It maybe doesn't augur well that the 'insert image' function in the target section has now been disabled (sorry lads ), but I see it's still alive and well in another section (which I don't dare mention for fear of 'alerting the authorities').

Any update on this request ?
It would be nice to know a genuine reason why it couldn't at least be trialled
