It'll last a lot longer as well Phil

After the weekend I can remove the tarpaulin and store it so the wind doesn't destroy it.

Unfortunately I received two quotes on Friday for covering it in polythene sheet, the aluminium rail system to retain the sheet comes in at £1000 and the sheet comes in at £700.

So after having a think about it the tunnel will now be going up at 23 meters in length and will be covered by this :-

Using tarpaulin will also allow me to extend the tunnel in the future if we need to and I won't need to pay specialists to skin it.

Another bonus is that I have enough galvanised steel tube in stock for the 22off X 1.5 meter ground anchors needed for the shorter tunnel.

So now instead of us having a 40 yard long poly tunnel sweat box to shoot from we'll have a 23 meter long gazebo.

Have you thought about talking to a scaffold place.., i managed to get a huge tarp (reinforced clear type) for free!!!!! it was about 8' x 25' got that when asking about old scaff planks. ended up with loads really cheap..

they appeared to just want rid of most of it maybe a cheap alternative for now??

Hey Mick, would those of us 'camping without tents' be allowed to sleep under it??

Then I'd only need to borrow me Mum's sun lounger to sleep all night / sit all day!

Is the meet by invitation only? I posted a few pages back but haven't had any replies so wasn't sure if there was some misunderstanding on my part.

I am drunk so you need to heed my advice with a pinch of salt and a second opinion. PM T20 on here as he is the "MAN" with regard to this event. Then send him cash/cheque/postal order/HW35 parts or a spare limb and he will add you to the "list".

Also Mick is a bloody fine gentleman. I must go, the wife is confiscating my keybo....

Haha fair enough. Was just a general enquiry really, I've got a few old springers which I really ought to learn to shoot while I still have them. I read about the meet from last year and thought it sounded like a good laugh so I've been waiting for this year's to be announced. I would probably only be dropping in for the day but naturally I would contribute accordingly.

Is it a fixed price or is that just for the campers? I'd probably only be along for the day and head back in the evening so no need for a camping spot.
Sorry for the late reply Willenium

Yes the price of £20 is a fixed price to cover insurance, portaloos etc --- there is no charge for camping, so I leave it up to anyone attending whether they'd like to camp or not.

Last year folks who camped, shot on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On the Friday night most folks went to the local pub for a get together and afterwards went for a curry.

On the Saturday night we all sat round a bonfire and had a couple of drinks.

Then on The Sunday some folks departed early but quite a few stayed until about 4 O'clock in the afternoon before setting off for home.

This year Kev will be doing the catering again on the Saturday and hopefully he'll be showing up on the Sunday this year to cook breakfast for those who want it.

    Hal's all good!

    Reply received from young Hal.

    He's okay!

The poor lad has been mega busy servicing his shoot, controlling all the vermin he has to contend with. So, okay, and busy, busy, busy, and.....

He's coming to the Bash!! Looking forward to seeing you again, matey!!

Damn right uncle Tone. I've just written out the cheque for "Sir Mick of le SprigerBash" ill get it posted this week at some point.
Yes I'm devastated that I'm so busy shooting, I've actually fitted a gun safe at work to keep them in if I go out before or after work. I have barely touched my springer since last year so I'm not hoping for any good results with it. Thinking about it that was probably the last time I picked up a sub12 rifle. .

It will be good to see/ meet everyone again.
    ATB. Hal.
