    Webley Junior

I've just managed to add this lovely little Webley Junior to my collection. I thought I'd show you some photos's of it as it is quite interesting. It is the pre war tin grip model in the 'Firework' box. The date label on the box is 1940 and the inner instruction label is dated 1942. The lid of the box has a very small label on it which although faded details Webley & Scott 1790 -1940. So obviously the label commemorates 150 years of Webley & Scott. The pistol is numbered 30223. I thought that these pistols were not made after 1939 so this looks like one of the very last manufactured and it was sold after 1942 going by the inner instruction label. The pistol retains most of its original blueing although suffering from a bit of box rash. It shoots very well and looks to have had little use. I though it may interest Webley collectors I'd be interested to know what the last numbered Junior was if anyone knows.

Nice find Tim, especially with the green label on the box.
