    Valve problem

Just done a lot of work on my mates EB20. The exhaust valve was blasting gas by into the grip area due to wear in the brass section where the steel shaft passes through. The whole valve unit turned out to be the old Benjamin type which has now been replaced by the two piece unit in later models. Had to use the old Benjamin stripping tool to access. I machined the valve and made a tighter fitting brass bush. That was great but it turned out the tolerances were too good and the valve unit would not all tighten up and keep the piercing pin inline. Seems the whole valve unit was not straight. Had to re-machine all the internals and make extra seals from polyurethane, and it is now working correctly. In the mean time my mate bought the new replacement valve from Chambers. It looks to me that if you drill out the captive nut for the front screw of the trigger guard, and drill out the locating dimple in the body of the pistol you can fit the new type valve. Has anybody done this ?

    Thanks Baz
