Why do springer tuning posts always seem to bring out the "My tuner is better than your tuner" posts?
Its the nature of forums to diverge.

    But I digress...

    Don't get obsessed with buttons.

Do it the other way around ...

Fit a decent kit, debur, polish piston, size seal. That with decent modern lubes on the piston and comp tube and you will probably not want to go with buttons ( someone like Bigtoe will be along to advise on latest lubes ).

He would probably advise Finishing line bike grease on the seal, Red rubber grease on the spring and guide, and moly on the comp tube , I use these and they are all excellent

    .
I have had six of Tony's Sandwell Field Sports tuned rifles since 2002. Tony @ SFS is my 'Go To' tuner ... I will not go to any other: enough said.

A .22, 25mm HW77 needs the absolute minimum of work to make it feel nice to shoot.
Why not drop TinBum a line, get one of his kits and have a go yourself? You’re in the right place to ask for advice on any part/lube that you may struggle with (which you won’t, as it’s a five minute job) and you’ll save a good few quid...
Put on heading 270, assume attack formation

    Yep minimum work indeed

I think a VMach kit s the best in these though personally, and worth every penny

I bought a HW99s Imp from Tony last year, and I agree, I would't go anywhere else from now on. The rifle Is an absolute joy to shoot

Any ideas who could do the buttoning folks?
Saving yourself a heap of squids doing it.
