    Lov 21 CO2 pistol.

Ive recently been having a lot of fun with a Lov 21 CO2 (12g bulb) pistol.

This pistol cost under £100 brand new, incl post, in the U.K., posted to my local friendly RFD, in my case Dave Mercer. . It comes in a cardboard box (well, what did you expect for that money ) with two CO2 caps - so you can alternate them when re-filling plus a 24 month warranty.

My first group straight out of the box, single handed @ 10m produced a group of 3 touching and a group of 2 touching 1/2" apart. I did these http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Airs...tml?sort=4&o=0

http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Airs...tml?sort=4&o=2 today @ 10m single handed. The best one scores a 47 ex 50!!! I struggle to do that with my Steyr.
The only thing Ive done to mine is add a bit of weight (self stick motorcycle tyre/wheel balance weights) to the muzzle to reduce flip. Open the back sight with a small file because the sight picture wasn't to my liking and add some rubber inner tube to the ambi grip to make it less slippy and added an 'O' ring to the trigger to help trigger finger placement.
Over the chrono its doing 410 fps pretty consistently with R10 pistol pellets. The single stage trigger on mine has a pull of approx 700g
The Lov 21 is 290mm in length and weight approx 700+ g. Ive yet to count the number of shots per cart but would expect 70+.
The very basic instruction sheet (and exploded diagram - the construction is SO simple) http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Airs...tml?sort=4&o=9 and comes with classics like - 'Be careful about accident hazard during nut manipulation' so trim your finger nails. .
Bad points: Mine arrived totally devoid of any lube but a few drops of Balistol soon sorted that. The back sight windage is fiddly (slacken one screw & tighten another ).

If your thinking of buying a starter 10m target air pistol or just want a single shot fun gun I would seriously consider one of these 'Plastic Fantastics'. A couple of the club members have bought one and are well pleased.

Is this the single shot Drulov under a new name, Ian?

John Forsey used to sell them for £99.

Very good value under any name.

The name 'Lov' appears on the box so the 'DruLOV' might be a subsidiary.

Theres more info here: http://sureshot-airguns.co.uk/lov-21/ for £90 plus p & p (plus any RFD costs.) They have gone up slightly (exchange rate?) since I bought mine.

LOV is made by Lovena (at least years back it was the case).
Nice starter pistol and will work ages if not damaged due to abuse.

    Things worth considering:
    1. Fix the sights - usually small file will do the job. Total replacement possible but usually an exaggeration.
    2. Add oring on the pellet probe to seal it better

    3. Sometime pellet probe will open backwards after the shot - (it might come with time). You can fix it making simple mod - kind of bolt action lock... simple and effective solution.

    4. Last but not least it can be converted to CO2 cartridge which can be easily charged with small CO2 bottle. Just replace the cap to one with valve - shooting LOV becomes very cheap.

    5. Moving parts and valve interior needs inspection and polishing...

How similar is it the the Drulov DU-10?

Does anyone know if spares are available for the Lov 21 and whether the CO2 piercing cap is the same as on the Drulov DU-10?

I've got a secondhand DU-10 which is in great condition and works reliably (is very happy with Bisley Practice at 6 yards and doesn't double shot or misfire with them). However it came with only one piercing cap and I'm struggling to get a second one so I don't have to wait before fitting another bulb.
