Sussex Interclub HFT - Round 3 RESULTS

    Hi all

Round 3 may have failed to approach the weather experienced in the year of the Swallows FTC monsoon shoot, but it sure was damp and breezy, which forecast almost certainly led to some of our regular SIHFTers deciding to stay under the duvet. Shame, as those who braved it gave feedback suggesting it was definitely worth the journey and need to dry and oil your kit when you got home.

Surprisingly high scores in the conditions, convincing me that Sussex HFT is continuing its rise up the skill league. Highlights have to be Steve and Mike’s 57 & 58 in Open Class and Nigel’s 54 in Recoiling. Superb results, guys.

    And here they are …..

Please let me know a.s.a.p. if you spot anything you think is amiss. I’ve already been alerted to one significant change of membership – Colin Wilson having joined (before Round 1) Buxted. I’ve updated the main scores spreadsheet to reflect this and can report that, while it did alter the team members and scores for that round, it did not alter the results. The scores below reflect this update. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS PUT YOUR FULL NAME AND CLUB ON YOUR SCORECARD!!

Prize drawer winners today were :

    • Charles Peal – the £24 cash prize, and
    • Lewis Hodges – the Air Arms goody bag

Team scores today and points won under our new scheme are :
    Club Round 3 Total Points
    Oaks 275 36
    Horsham 272 33
    Buxted 261 30
    Swallows 260 26
    Ford 248 22
    Iden Fern 145 24

There was one error in club member allocation which had gone unnoticed at the end of the shoot. This has changed the team score totals. The above numbers are (or should be) correct. Ford were 2 members light to make up their team so had extra cards drawn at random (collecting an additional 88 points). Iden Fern were ‘no shows’ and also had 3 cards drawn to avoid a zero in the above results.

Happy and safe shooting to you all ahead of Round 4 at Horsham Hawks, which is in three weeks on Sunday the 21st June.

Thank you Swallows, just like to thank my shooting partner for the day who managed to get an unprecedented number of plates to fall over (anchor) and that young chap Rudy for at last getting a silver badge he so long deserved.

How much longer before he earns a Bronze and completes the set?

    Wouldn't recommend holding your breath

Thanks Mike and all at Swallows - a really enjoyable day, a challenging but enjoyable course, and the usual warm welcome from all at SIHFT.
