Trouble is on finance is the APR (interest rate) most of the dealers want over 29% & thats very expensive considering you can get personal loans for under 7%.
I Keep Hitting The Escape Button But I Am Still Here.
Get yourself a mint credit card with an introductry 9 months 0%. just make sure you can pay it off in 9 months.
Shop I used to get my gear from would let you put a little away every week till you had the right ammount to buy. But the trouble with that is you prob want the rifle straight away
Personal loan or Credit card are the best ways forward unless you can borrow from a family member (0% interest )

Hi,
I dont know if this will help as you have stated you are after finance. However I recently purchased my air rifle from Woody's of Wembley who advertise in 'Airgunner' and 'Airgun World' and they use a system called cheque spread. Basically you send six pre-dated cheques and they withdraw the money on the dates the cheques have been written for, plus this way you don't pay interest! Hope this helps.
James.
Yeah, but generally you'll pay a lot more for your rifle there anyway.Originally Posted by Air Gunner

and i wonder why.
what with all of the over heads that local shops have it is a wonder that the mail order companies havnt put them out of business by cutting prices to the bone
stop whinging and support your local shop cos once it is gone it's gone!
and that includes all of that knowledge that the staff have and all of the little favours that they do.
Well said that man!
Wasnt, and I do.Originally Posted by daystateman

What they say about credit cards is correct.
My better half is in finance and threatened me with blunt rusty objects if I considered using finance (uttings or otherwise).
I dont think it works out too well if you come into cash and want to pay it off quickly either
29% is a hell of a wad to pay extra.
Save up if you can...I cant (did it once but nearly died of impatience )...or do it on a credit card...carefully
Price Difference between Mail Order and Shops
Work it out, one is Stocked & Staffed and normally in a good Location
With high building & running costs
Another is buried away and only staffed fully when orders arrive
In many cases, not needing to keep much stock until orders arrive.
As many firms these day's offer lower prices when you do not have to deal with people
As order on Line , less 5-10% of prices - services.
Workers need paying and a place to work
What really get's me is Shooters that spend Hours in a Shop
looking at possible outfit's
To go away and buy via Mail Order
Then have check to walk into the shop and ask the Dealer to set up the outfit for them
Which they most probably would have done if they had purchased it from them
Service costs money
But as many are finding out the hard way when buying a Gun
that they often go wrong and need to be returned to supplying dealer
And carriage for Gun's is getting very expensive these days and can easerly wipe out any earlier savings.
