What would I be looking for and how much should I be paying.

Hi Steve,

What a lovely gesture. A BSA Standard No 1 within a 'very' approximate serial number range of L1000 to L6000. Or a BSA Standard No 2 within a serial number range of S1 to S3500.

Mark Knibbs at the Countrystore in Shustoke will be able to confirm exactly when a rifle left the BSA factory through the original factory ledgers, if you are lucky enough to be offered a suitable rifle. I have L300, which was assembled in 1919 and once owned S17 - the latter would have been ideal for you.

Good luck with your quest.
