Hi Abe,

You have a 6 shot mag. The numbers on the side are there to tell you how many rounds remain in the magazine. The silver coloured ball bearing you mention is the magazine follower and should not be removed.

there is only one small square of foam inside the box.

But the Box as I said is just one piece of plain card board with numerous cut out slots squares and Folds, into a box.
