I'm a huge fan of Beretta, owning a Sliver Pigeon and 1301 myself, but the 690 just takes it that notch up. By no means the most fancy Beretta available, but you certainly get the feel that this is one of their premium guns. On the face of it, an upgraded Silver Pigeon, however it's a completely different feeling gun. Quite chunky for a Beretta, feeling more like a Browning to hold, it shoots incredibly well and I managed to beat skeet scores previously set with the Silver Pigeon.
It's a Beretta, so the quality and shootability of the gun is a given, the unique feature is the black aesthetic. Matt black barrels and a black action with orange highlighting, I really feel this gun maintains the classic O/U look with a modern flair.

Nice review I have a 690 Field and they are very well put together and shoot great, can't get on with Brownings although they are making some nice guns.
