I bought in the early 90's 4000 .177cal pellets in red tins. And 2500 in .22cal. Are these tins collectable then chaps?. Chris

I sold some tins not so long ago and was surprised at what they made. I knew they had some value but not that much. It seems for the right stuff there is a healthy collectors market. When you think what some stamps can command then I can see why pellet tins have such a following. Nice thing to collect.

Hi Chris, the .22's if a blue tin with Eley markings and a Brum postcode can go £12-18+ a tin to people with older ''true'' .22 (5.6mm) rifles, depending on how bright they still are, the purple 5.5 tins are not nearly so sought after as lots of choice out there in 5.5. The .177's normally go for £4-6 a tin or less from this period as lots around and again not having a premium as ''shooters''.

Age & worth of this tin?
I was given this in the early 80's so has to be much more than those 30 years of age at least as it looked as aged as this when I got it.

Going to be 1950s-60s vintage. There's a similar tin on the bay at the moment up to £13.49 after 4 bids.

Thanks John, asked value out of interest but not important as not selling but thought 60's to 70's, a little earlier is nice to know.
