Several years ago I inherited my Dad's Webley Premier which he had from new, details in the format 'Series Code Letter, Date stamp from under left grip and Batch Number' are:

E 7/74 392

The body is coated shiny black.

By shiny black, I'm guessing you mean an enamel type finish rather than blued?
