0.570" ball, 10 thous patch and 60grains of Pyrodex RS in my .58 smoothbore Zouave
With smoothe bore .62(.615) I had I found between 60-80 shot best at 50.up close 50g was fine.it seemed like the heavier charges made it fly a bit straighter.I also sometimes used a lubed felt wad over powder before the patch. It seemed to shoot better but when groups are about 3-5" it wasn't worth the extra step all the time.my best groups were 2" at 50 yards btw.

According to the Hodgdon's manual using BY WEIGHT charges -
Pyrodex RS - 10% LESS of the usual BP charge - ie. 90gr of Pyrodex RS instead of 100gr of BP.
Triple 7 - 15% LESS etc.
YMMV.

Sometimes it's a GREAT idea to actually BUY a book [remember them] pertaining to the subject. The Lyman Black Powder manual, IMO, is a must for anybody into the black art, as are loading manuals full of data from the manufacturers of the subs.
Just a thought.
