Transporter rather not wear a onesie as I would like to enjoy the weekend and you would scare the kids
For me, with any luck, the second weekend in September. As mentioned earlier, for the last few years I've had to work down at Silverstone MotoGP and, this year, it falls on the first weekend. The boss is great and forgetting to say anything. When I'm back in on Friday (I've got to go on a training course in Manchester tomorrow) I'll ask him; but I'm pretty sure I'll be down there.
As you say, no firm conclusions re sorting commitments. There was a mention of having a cut-off point (say 7-10 days prior?), but we'll see. The thing is, there are lots of people who still just turn up on the day having not even confirmed on the thread. If Kev is not going to be doing the catering, that'll take some of the pressure off as, for Kev to attend, he had to ensure it would be viable and needed to see more up-front commitment.
I think the fairest way to all is that, once the thread is up and running, people commit as early as they can and get their names on the list.
Up until about 10 days before this one, numbers were looking thin, but we had a late surge and numbers were healthy. We just need to see those numbers nice and early to help Mick and Shirl.

Mmm...
Well, Nick, if it has to be, it has to be.
As much as I love The Bash and I always look forward to each event with enthusiasm and vigour (they are the highlights in my life currently, breaking up the crock of s--t of my everyday life), if The Bash weekend falls on that first weekend, I'd be buggered as I'd HAVE to work.
The only slight consolation might be if I tell them that I had a hospital appointment or something on the Friday.
On the Saturday, I could call in in the evening on my way home and see you boys and girls.
Sunday would be out of the question. Race day and late finish taking down etc....I don't normally get away from the circuit until about 7pm.

I know this thread will get shut down sonn but I just can't let it go to Page2 just yet I need time to bereave
Now Tinners - either you need to have your September holiday at The Hollow or Tony - you'll just have to get the MotoGP moved from Silverstone to The Hollow (that'd be well cool). Either way it won't be a Proper Bash unless you are both there. Sort it out !!!

Mmmm....sorting this out is top of my personal agenda, Pauly.
I've only ever missed on Bash day proper, to date. That was at the 2014 Bonfire event. We had this silly big sale at work and the boss insisted all staff had to work on the Saturday; no exceptions. But I was there on the Sunday. As it happens, the Saturday sale day was a flop, so a well deserved "twat fine" I think.
If The Bash is to be on the first weekend in Septmber, I'll see what can be done. I'll check with the boss tomorrow to see if we're down for it. If we are, that means that our clothing department is contracted to run the stand selling the official Ducsti clothing. Part of the commitment is that our dealership has to send a sales person. As our Ducati specialist, unfortunately, that's me!
Now if I can't get out of it, as said previously, I'll scrap to get the Friday at Quigley Hollow. Getting either the Saturday or Sunday would be futile. But I'd be able to drive up the A5 to Quigers on the Saturday for a couple of hours in the evening.
It's always a knackering event, as I drive home every night, round trip about 250 miles.
Rest assured, I'll try my best to sort this end. Even if it means getting hold of Dorna and seeing if they'd mind shifting the date for the race!
If it's not to be, I'll still be chipping in with the dosh and boinging and a-bumping the thread in the usual manner. And if I had to work all three days, I'd pop in on the Friday and Saturday evenings.
The most important thing here is that our event is a well-attended success and that The Bash goes ahead and goes from strength to strength. This is far more critical than the dates having to suit just the one person.
Will keep you updated.
Now I need to go and get ready to set off for a course in Manchester. Mandatory attendance and a proper pain.
Sees you laterz folks.
