Wink Sussex Interclub HFT 2016 - Round 6 Results

    Hi One and All

BIG thanks go to the hard working crew at Ford HFT for setting out a challenging course for us and then adding some dampness and plenty of wind; well, it wouldn’t be Ford without all of these three elements.

A few managed to figure out the wind better and more often than the majority and special “well done”s go to the Gold Badge winners, led by today’s top shot – Charles – coming in with an excellent 55.

The total number of entries was down today. Perhaps due to the weather or early Summer (whatever that is) holidays, the Grand Prix or the tennis, which I’m watching while typing up these notes. There were also other shooting attractions to divert attention, one of which was the big Poppy Shoot hosted by Misfits and we know that this was where a significant number of absentee MADites went. Hope you guys and gals had a good day too.

In recognition of today’s Poppy Shoot and the Sussex absentees from the UKAHFT and Misfits organised event, the SIHFT too decided to host a collecting bucket. I am pleased to announce that we raised £84.42 for the Royal British Legion cause. Charles has already been in touch with Pete Sparkes and the crew to let them know of our contribution.

I love shooting at Ford - so different from any other ground; throw in a great course and a tricky wind, and it all made for a cracking day's shooting. Thank you to Richard (he of the new kinky boots) and the rest of the Ford contingent.

Well done Charles and the rest of The Oaks team - can't see Meon catching you guys now, but we'll be there if you do slip.

Finally, massive thanks to fellow MVAC member Steve Haworth for the loan of his spare jacket, after I stupidly decided that it wasn't raining that much when I left home this morning and didn't bother bringing my own waterproofs ("You stupid boy, Pike!)

See you all at Swallows in a couple of weeks

Despite, or because of, the weather I thought that went rather well!

My boots and I thought that was one of the best courses we have set, so a big thanks to our totally functional crew of Barry(who set out but didn't shoot), Steb, Justin, Pat and Glen. Setting a course like that totally from scratch is hard (but very rewarding!)work, so I take my hat off to all the hosting clubs and Swallows in particular who have the same Herculean(not Machiavellian this time!)task as us. Well done chaps!

Charles and Biggles - as ever, you are heroes! Mikey Byford for checking the course, Andy for looking threatening and not mentioning the rat or even distorting the facts...much!

Thanks for coming along when there were other distractions about on a rainy day

    Well shot Charles, damn you!

    Regards

    Richard

Thanks Fordies for a great day out.

Best fun I've ever had laying on a wet runway!

If targets fell over when harsh language is used, I'm sure I'd have done much better.
