I'm RHanded and load with my right... cock with RH (if standing), or LH if seated, hold lever with left, load with right
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

No, he's quite right, they are a bugger to load. I had a .25 Superstar some years ago and eventually after much pellet trialling, I had the breech slightly countersunk to enable the pellet to slide in !
All to do with the BSA .243 bore at the time !

yeah, this is the one problem with the RB design.. you can't easily shove a pellet into the bore as you can with a TX / HW, so the bore / lead in vs pellet fit has to be just right. Too loose and you lose power / accuracy; too tight and you can't load the thing. The problem of critical fit is the same in all calibres, but it's just worse in .25 (as you say) due to the tight bores...

Well it hasn't put me off, still looking

Do you opt for a pellet that comes in different head sizes (JSB Exact springs to mind) and then go with the one that's best suited ?

.......thats an option, sounds a bit of a faff though. Up there with weighing and washing. If i ever get one think I'll go down the route of trying different pellets to find one that suits, if there is one.

Getting used to the breech, as even in massive .25 it's still sometimes fiddly to load, a 177 must be quite tricky!!!
I had one in 177 cal and did find it a bit tricky when loading some time's, I would end up spinning the pellet the wrong way. I stupidly sold my gun and have always regretted it, I tried to buy the gun back but the new owner would not sell. I have a mk2 Superstar in .22 cal and it is a very nice gun and can keep up with my Tx200 if I am doing my bit. A worthwhile addition to any one's collection..

    Les..
