Have you got your short stroked Pro Elite sorted now then, Ray ?
I quickly rebuilt my Recoiless b2 earlier today, it's running quite nicely now.
All the best Mick
Having been to a few meets at the Quiggley Hollow and meeting some right characters, I've started to dabble in the dark art of gun tunning. Geez what a mucky job it is too.
The choice is naturally an Air Arms....as they don't need much. And I must say I'm really getting into this
The lathe has had a right good workout.
Many thanks to the many clever clogs that give their time and knowledge for free at the many hosted events Mick Furness puts on.

It needed rebuilding anyway, Mel --- the twang was getting on my tits and the power was down to 575fps on domes.
So with the aid of a Carling can piston liner, one added power washer, a new O ring for the brake and a quick relube she's good to go.
Hopefully the velocity will settle down to around 595fps as any excess lube burns off and she beds in.
All the best Mick
looking forwards to the results next bash
How's that piston coming along ?
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
New seal and extension is on and i have replaced the piston weight with a delrin one. The spring had a few coils removed as they were doing nothing anyway. Its running at 9.5 lb and i will bed it in with a few pellets.
Thanks for your advice Jon much appreciated.
Mick that little trick worked

I followed Tinbum's advice and bought the TX 200 Mk 3 FAC spring and shortened it. Took about an inch off. My .177 is running at 11.4 with no pre-load

try lighening the piston first.. reducing it's weight will enable it to accelerate up to speed with less spring, and you don't need 400g. It'll reduce recoil too.

Daft question but how do you lighten it

cut some slots, drill some holes.
With the PE, reducing the OD of the central section of the body migh be tricky, as the shoe may allow the piston to rotate off of the flat section if the body is reduced.
So i'd drill some holes - which you can always open out into slots. Just put them well away from the flat where the shoe sits. say 3 slots 90 degress spacing, starting 90 degress from the flat. Should save you 30 grams +
