New video will be coming as soon as the rifle is re assembled as promised - Tony messaged me earlier today to say that it was being posted out. It will be honest as they all are. As for your version of events - well you're wrong and I am very much dealing with the facts but I will not be publicly printing conversations all over the place - which is what it would actually take to prove the point. Its up to you what you believe, you clearly have made your decision and thats up to you - I really don't care.
I have one of tony,s 22mm convertions in my full length tx and it shoots nice with hardly any recoil im happy i do believe there is issues with the 22mm convertion in the txhc but tony would tell you more i have also fired nick g guns before which are nice but i know nickg was having problems with txhc with springs breaking jon. Budd also make the tx shoot nice what people have to remember these are all garden shed tuners so all tunes may not be perfect
So the question must be..... what's the best HC tune??
Having read loads of stuff on the net about tx200 tuning the smaller diameter tunes aren't suited to the HC due to the short barrel and small swept volume.....
that's bull, they are only about 0.7 Fp below the full length in .177, so they just need a longer stroke to compensate (increase the swept volume). An HC has the same swept volume options as any other TX as they have the same comp tube / cylinder length. Also any stories you read about piston crash due to the short barrel are also complete as the key events still happen in the same order, regardless of the small difference in barrel length.
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
Probably just gonna get a 'Tbt' guide kit for it at some point but to be honest with the way it's shooting at the moment I may not even bother with that, I'm certainly in no hurry to fiddle about with it that's for sure...
When shooting 'Falcon accuracy +/JSB Exact RS' the felt recoil barely even registers, that ole saying of 'if it ain't broke then don't fix it ' sounds good to me...

I've only ever worked on one TX, as opposed to a fair few HWs, and in my (limited) experience, with my .177 HC, the lighter top hat made a huge difference to the firing cycle, as compared to the heavy, factory item. Quickens the perceived cycle up nicely. Had to add a fair bit of preload to get the power back up to 11 with 8.4 AAFs, quickening the cycle further.
But, as you say, if you're happy with it and it does everything that you want, just shoot and enjoy for now and just fettle when the need, one day, may arise.

NEXT EVENT :- May 2025.........BOING!!
Although Mr Tinbum usually does kits in various specifications, if you were happy with the rear guide fit, I'm sure he would be happy to just supply a top hat? For a true custom fit, maybe better to send him your spring? Or supply him the spring ID? Ask him for some preload washers, too.

True enough john, though at 21mm its on the limit at full stroke , and if you add too much spring you get into dieseling, I am struggling with a pro sport at the moment. the other thing with the sleeved down tunes is if you don't have the sleeve and the end cap sealed dead on they are very unforgiving, all the normal tests show its good( ie finger over the end and pull the piston out , and immersed in water ). I think any voids in the loctite cause lost volume ruining any chance of making power.
I have my own 21mm that I cant get bellow 11.5fpe, and the prosport I cant get above 10.5 fpe . both have the same spec pistons, tubes , spring &pre load . I have been on the prosport for months , even had a tube made up with the end welded , its getting boring now
