Yep, Mick has very kindly agreed to a competition in aid of a charity at the next bash.
Still in its infancy at the moment as I'm still in talks, so I can't give specifics - but it'll be a competition suitable to all levels and should also have a decent prize for the 'best in show'.

More info as soon as we sort the finer points out.

Mick, you're a gent - thank you, mate.

    Cheers all, Craig
    Nice one, young Craig.

I'm sure it will go down well, provide an extra dimension to The Bash and raise a tidy little sum for such a worthy cause.

You did say "suitable for all levels", right?

Yeah, I also heard that those Southern varieties are much nastier pieces of work than the Northern ones. Must be something to do with the warmer temperatures down there.

Are you sure that 12ft.lbs is enough?

You have to wait until their head pops out Tone, 12fpe is nowhere near enough to penetrate those shells, a .22 between the antennas seems to do the trick but always be prepared for a follow up shot.

    Mmm....I thought that's what you'd say, Craig.

Will there be a separate class for numpties?

What do you find to be the best bait to get their heads to pop out, Pauly?

    Human flesh?

I do often wonder whether it was, in fact, mutant snails rather than rats that did for poor old Carl, y'know.

Maybe we could have some targets made up for a new game, "Nail a Snail", Pauly?

'Impail a snail' could replace my bird on a pole I must say, I'm intrigued as to Craigy's plans The Bashes have always been perfect but I reckon a bit of informal good fun competition will only add to the whole experience

I would suggest putting a saucer of beer out to attract snails. At 30 yards it would be a challenge. But someone would drink it (snails and all)
