Sorry we missed this one folks, both Justin and I had different family commitments we had to honour.
Looking forward to the next one at Horsham.
See you soon.

Hi All
Thank you Buxted for a terrific round; great course – which I heard quite a few mutter that it was more difficult than that set for the UKAHFT just a fortnight ago – and good food too.
There was a trifle more breeze fluttering some lanes, but not quite the heat. There were certainly targets more difficult to see than even lane 25 from UKAHFT and there were range traps aplenty. I personally still refuse to believe that the rotten (but easy) supported kneeler somewhere around peg 26 was more than 35 yards. But I have been assured it was at the max allowed under the rules – a full 40. No way did it look that far as I watched my pellet fall just outside the kill at 6 o’clock. Doh
There were bets going round of someone clearing it, or at least getting within a point or two, but the nearest was from the indomitable Charles, with the day-winning 57. Top shooting, Sir Peal
Best lane of the day for me has to be the free stander (peg 29?) which I and my fellow competitors – Chilli and Vince the Younger – all managed to knock over. I’m guessing that a group trio of kills on the free stander doesn’t happen too often. To say the least, we were all chuffed and made a point of informing the group behind us that it was a ‘gimme’ lane

Just a single card failed the post-shoot Simmo scrutiny today, for a competitor who had somehow managed to leave one of the boxes on his card completely devoid of any mark. We believe he had knocked it over, but couldn’t be awarded the 2 point he had probably deserved. Lesson learned – check your card and then check it again before leaving the course.
Please let me know a.s.a.p. if you spot anything you think is amiss. Have I misspelt any names? Have I put you in the wrong class? Let me know if you spot anything wrong. BBS PM or email should do the trick.
Prize drawer winners today were:
- Stephen Cummings – the £42 cash prize,
- Paul Somerville – the Air Arms goody bag
- And Shaun Wilson won the Compair Magazine subscription

Both Ford and Swallows FTC (each with 4 members present) had to rely on assistance from our rule which allows up to 3 cards drawn at random – from those NOT in their own club’s team – for the shortfall of numbers.
Happy and safe shooting to you all ahead of round 6 of the 2017 SIHFT, which is in two weeks’ time on the 16th July at Horsham. In the meantime, very best of shooting to all the SIHFTers, including those competing in next weekend’s HFT & FT event at Maldon.

Yep that was great fun, I was honoured with being allowed to accompany Messrs Byford and Simpson. They were delighted too, I can tell. I really can
I was told many times there were no range traps.
Anyone got any new eyes for sale? Mine appear to be on the blink.
Brilliant course
Richard
Ha hahaha on the blink, Geddit

Thanks Buxted for an absolutely brilliant course and a fab day in East Sussex.
Buxted always is a tough venue for me, but I love it - so please let there be a UKAHFT round there next year; if you can let me have the proposed date in 2018, CompAir will get fully behind it in terms of pre-shoot publicity, etc. to do our bit in getting more shooters to come along.
Thanks also to my fellow Meon Valley member and all-round good guy Don Vickers, for diagnosing my scope crossover problem and suggesting the appropriate cure (BKL mounts )
Write what down? Sorry, I wasn't paying attention(can you write that down Richard) ta!

wow, what a superb course you guys put on for us and great food too. I really enjoyed those targets with the exception of my first target, the free stander which I am sure ducked and sent me into the field. But I also love the vibe of the SIHFT even though I know my humour can scare some I always feel that I am welcomed. i look forward to the next one that I can get to in the hope I can beat the fat controller that has been kicking my ass. well done again chilli
Does anyone know how to contact doughnuts Anonymous cos I just cant seem to give them up and may be a 0 addict
Thanks to buxted crew for a great course.
Many thanks to the people that fed us.
Well done charles with the top score. Great company with sir charles and bob.
See you soon
Graeme
Thanks Buxted for a cracking shoot, every single peg a real challenge.
The course certainly put me in my place! Great company from James and Gary, I thought the atmosphere yesterday was tops even better than other SIHFT meets. Off to the range later to check my zero with less air in the gun, I seemed to make the difficult shots and miss some that should be easier, normal shoot for me I guess!

Thanks guys from everyone at Horsham. Great course, great weather and great food. Certainly caught a lot of us out. Shame I couldn't shoot today. I'm off to the physio / gym now to try and sort my back out.
See you all at Horsham in a couple of weeks time.
All the very best,
PJ
