If I remember correctly, it was a toss up between a Diana 34 Premium and the Walther LGV but I think the majority voted for the LGV, the original asker got the Diana in the end (I think) as it was in stock with his local gun shop.

I think we lost the original Thread in the changeover.

Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in
Think you're right. Seem to remember a long discussion about triggers...Rekkords, CD's and T06's ?
Personally, I was edging towards the Walther.

The Walther is one rifle I'd like to have a go with, I'm intrigued to see what it's like (only to see if it's as good out of the box as my Prosport), especially after all the hype but it's the mixed reports I read on here that sort of put me off (plus I'd rather spend my money on other things)

The answer is obvious, BSA Lightning! There is absolutely nothing you can do to make it shoot better!
Better to admit you walked through the wrong door than spend your life in the wrong room
I think worth adding this link from the thread about triggers

As all the triggers are mentioned
Lgv ultra comp n hw98
The oval pistons in Diana's and the bead blasted finish aren't to my liking
The cheap quality and hernia inducing weight of the walther rules them out
I suppose I grudgingly have to say one Herman's offerings would be a better out of the box rifle. Not sure which one as they're all a little iffy

I posted the original thread and ended up going for the .22 Diana 34 Premium. It really does shoot well 'out of the box' but if anything sounds a little dry. I was advised by a very nice chap at SFS to spray a little dri-slide through the cocking slot onto the spring which he reckons will sort it out. Slight disappointment is the blade on the foresight which is triangular in shape and not the easiest to see clearly. I much prefer a straight blade which I managed to source from my Model 50 spares as they are not provided with a new rifle. It's just as well that I had a spare as neither Edgar Brothers or Diana in Germany could provide one even though the rifle is advertised as having an interchangeable front sight
