I use Titebond III for outdoor jobs these days, but I think the real boatbuilders use West System epoxy resin

It’s worth mentioning that on some woods the stippled area can look better if it’s dyed a darker shade, even black, before it’s finished with oil.

Ive just been given a lump of mahogany, its very old and been stored for over 30 years in a cabinet makers loft, he tells me thats agood thing ? So its big enough to get a stock out of it, as carpentry is something alien to me is this wood type anygood to have a go at making a stock, or should I try something else as Im 'green' with a chisel
