Hi Nick. I know, as I own one. The ref to Centenary must've krept in to my text via auto correct as the result of a typo sending the word match function off at a tangent ???

    Absolutely LOVE that analogy: perfect.

Although I am most happy with my Century, based on Geezer's analogy as quoted above, and following on from clarky's words of wisdom from page one, sub 12ft.lb and in .177, I think I tend to agree (but for me, it's a close run call ). Atb: G.

Bytheway, that Bowkett breech catch was a bit Heath Robinson...definately looking like an add on as opposed to part of the gun.
My old one definitely did that. Unlike any other quality b/b I have owned. But it did have scores of thousands of rounds through it.

My remaining Sport is very old ( black plastic but pad ) and only thing I ever needed to change was the piston seal ! Tried a venom spring once but it shot shite with that in so I went back to the Long soft FWB original

A FWB sport with a walther Barrel lock would be a Cool thing I reckon
Not surprised. Back in the day, it also looked a bit, as clarky says, H-R.

Great job. I had assumed that was some kind of (Airmasters?) custom jobbie from the early 80s.

BTW not much mention about the trigger problems especially when comparing it with a 80.
On the contrary. I was quite specific. I said Inthought the century is shit for very specific reasons. I did not say wlathers are shit. I do say springers are shit too but I accept that is personal taste in the same way many think PCPs are 'dead' but 5hat is of course the point.

If I am dissing a specific make as a whole (which is rare) it will probably because it is cheap with infe4ipr build and mate4ials and put together by people who dont give a dam .

The damage to this rifle was accidental. Accepted. 2 RFDs saw the co.ponents and made professional.comment which is fine with me. Of course its still an opinion but it was critisised non the less. The big issue for me was to source the components took almost a year before 5he owner of the gun got fed up with the manufacturer and the supply chain and I for one dont blame him.
So to be V3RY VERY CLEAR...I was not bashing walther i was bashing a specific el3ment of a specif8c gun and the lack of customer support. SO if you do buy a century becuase it is imprehlgnated with mega viagra and will give you the bone as soon as you touch it....whatever you do... dont dry fire it or leave 5he barrel open a quarter of an inch because you are in for a shit time.
In a battle of wits I refuse to engage with an unarmed person.

What is about springers that are shit ....as a generally sweaping statement across a whole raft of fantastic guns we have had down the years and you not being on the same tracks...or 1 or 2 isolated experiences.?
The function of many types of tuned springers have done incredible things down the years.
100 s of FT shoots won, and often the first choice for the professional pest control shooter.
THe huge benefit of self containment when out in the field and the long lasting qualities of many ...some 50 years or more and still going strong....
New tuning technology taking them onto a new level and host of after market business which is good for our sport ....
Im not getting on you ....just a bit perplexed

Do you have a photo of this cataclysmic damage ...ill see if i can help you out ...The piston damage intrigues me the most.
Furnish me with some pics and descriptions ...i love these challenges .
