. 177 and .22, both the same
The HW silencer/moderator is it size specific ie.177 / .22 or are they one size fits all
Thanks

1 size fits all I shot .25 through mine although they do sell a specific .25 cal mod.
the bore is 7mm as in it takes a 7mm hex key to unscrew the face plate.
The BSA VC (variable choke) moderator has different collars for each caliber. As a moddy, it stacks up quite well to the HW, but it does depend on the gun. It is quieter on some guns than the HW, and louder on others. I don't know the science behind it but that's my experience.
Good deals with these members
THANK you guys
Can they be made any quieter ...
reason I ask is I have 2 , one seems quieter than the other , strange
Doesn't the VC have caliber specific end plugs to restrict the outward flow of air? I have no idea if they are any quieter than an HW but when I put the HW on my R10 Mkii all I hear is the action and a puff of air coming out of the barrel. Any quieter and I might have to really check to see if the gun had fired.

Did you buy them new or used ? if used someone might have modified/buggered up one of them, I bought a used A&M that had been played with & was rubbish, sent it back to them & now it's fantastic.
The internal washers are also 7mm bore so if using .177 you could go a bit smaller which (in theory) should quiet it a bit more.
