While you’re there Tone, it seemed to me the HW30 got a bit of a bad review on the other thread ? I couldn’t comment as I’ve never had one but... am thinking of getting one... I’ve only heard good up until now

They do shoot beautifully, Pauly. Very smooth, accurate and forgiving.
HOWEVER....the "galling" can and does happen.
One of mine, not touched, is perfectly fine.
One of the others I bought used and had been fettled by Brucieboy and is also fine.
My other one I've not even looked at. Bought it from the BBS, new gun, hardly used. Had a quick go with it and it went into the cupboard. If I was to try and use it, I'd be having a precautionary look at it.
The little synthetic one that I have on order......well, a few people have asked me to bring it along to The Hollow. So, I think, it will be prudent to strip it (might just have a very few shots first), dress the lever, put an insert in there, deburr it and get some moly in there - rear of piston, cylinder, cocking lever "horn" and lever.

Cheers Tone, I reckon more will be good than bad. It’s one I would like to buy, particularly the synthetic stock. Now, either I get one and bring it to The Bash for an autopsy amongst you learned folk or, I wait and have a likkle go of yours as I’ve never shot one before. I’ll have a think on it.

No worries, Pauly, and you know you're always welcome to have a play with any of mine - as are all Bash attendees.
If you do go for one beforehand, though, whip the stock off and have a look at the arm and underneath of the cylinder. If all seems fine, apply some good moly paste (60% content at least) to areas of potential concern and see how you go. This would be the very least I would do, just as a precautionary measure. I did this on a stock '99 a few years back and all is fine. And, as you say, they won't all do it.
Have yourself a great day today, matey.

Oh yes indeedy my fine Friends of The Hollow and we're really getting so much nearlier, nearly there.
Okay, we'll slip the Original / Diana 75 match rifle in today but I reckon the airgun numbers tie-in has run its course now, so maybe give it a miss from now on?
Of course, lots of opportunities will be presenting themselves as the days count down to The Big Day, not least with five weeks to go and Nick's favourite of all time!
