Reference my earlier email, I thought readers might find the following of interest. I found it on another site, after a little research and, assuming it is accurate, it will allow owners to date their FWB Sports. It encompasses all models in the 120s series (121 - German market; 124 - 177; 127 - 22). Via the link below, serial numbers are also available for HW & Walther. Quote:

I do not know the switch over points/dates between the Mk1, 2 and 3.
The production codes suggest a considerable number of these were produced with the largest markets, no doubt, the UK followed by the USA. Note, however, the hefty production drop in 1983 onwards, probably caused by competition from HW. It would appear, also, that production fell a little in the two preceding years with similar competition from the Original 45.
I gather, also, that the Distributor/Agent was ASI. It seems that some Mk2s were stamped as Mk2s if they were imported by ASI but it seems, also, that models were imported separately. Perhaps ASI was not sole Agent or perhaps there was competition from other Distributors.
Anyway, it is pleasing to submit information to readers, this time, rather than call upon their assistance. I hope this will be of interest for those who have not seen it.
