Hi all
Umarex are bringing out a pistol in April called the RP5 which is made in Germany.
This pistol is powered by two Co2 capsules that fits in the tube under the barrel. It has open sights plus a rail mount to fit a 11mm scope mounts or on the one pictured a 20mm mount for weaver sized sights. There is also a 20mm rail attached to the underside Co2 tube for either laser, torch or handgrip.
It will come in 0.177 and 0.22, each one will have a 5 shot magazine. This magazine is an updated design of the ones used in the Rohm pistols, so it is already been tried and tested. I found it easy enough to load, where you just drop the pellet into the hole and push the tab to drop in the next pellet.
The whole look of the pistol is really nice indeed. It is not a replica of any Real Steel Pistol and it looks like a proper airgun to which I think is great.
The cocking mechanism is like on a pump action shot gun. Initially you have to pull back on the foregrip, which then pulls back the pellet probe for you to be able to insert the magazine, then push forward on the foregrip so the pellet probes goes forward puts a pellet in the breech and engages the trigger. The following 4 shots you just pull back then push forward for each shot. Also on the foregrip there is a pad on the righthand side which needs to be pressed to let you move the grip back. Me being a leftie I still found it easy as I was able use my palm instead of your finger tips if you are righthanded
Jason and I had the privilege to the first in the U.K to shoot it at the B.S.S. We went on the range with Jason shooting it first and he dropped the metal rat target at about 15yds.

The cocking action is very smooth as well as the trigger. We shot with it a few times and throughly enjoyed it. We even tried it with a silencer on, as the barrel has the universal thread for screw on silencers. The pistol wasn’t loud before but with the silencer on there was only a slight whisper.
This will be a great pistol for target shooting, garden plinking and even Pistol HFT as the expected power is to be at the top end of our power limit. As well as the Pistol there will be a rifle/carbine version too.

With a fixed skeleton stock, no open sights and a dedicated moderator. Again predicted to be at the top end of our power limit, which make this gun a perfect for ratting and something different for hft.
Pricing of these are very interesting, as the Pistol is expected to be between £200-£250 and the rifle will be between £300-£350. We are both looking forward for the release date and we both have got our names down for these.

I will update this thread with more pictures. ASAP

Thanks Pad.
I do like an air pistol that isnt a replica.
Looks like a buy.
Cool post Paddy
Ghastly in my eyes...but if they do come in at that price point/power level, then I suspect sales of the equally horrific HW44 will get a bloody nose.
The rifle version looks like it smacked on every branch of the ugly tree when it fell off
But I would agree its really nice to see something that is not a replica brought to market, even if it's not to my taste - so well done Umarex
Hi Harvey.
Thanks, yes it is not going to be liked by everyone. But as you say it is nice that it isn't a replica.

I do.
But I was brought up on my Scorpion!
I think its the 'orrible thin plastic butt stock that offends my peepers
It looks like theres an end cap at the rear - a nice, well made straight pull stock to go on there would have looked much better and could be up-sold as a quality accessory instead of something that looks like it's been left a bit close to the fire
Maybe this will end up being a new 2240?
