The trip from hell.
Not nice getting from windemere to tewkesbury, bit still managed to get to Exeter in five hours, then everything was closed down with snow. Stuck sitting around in the services for 19 hours, finally made a break for it and was home in an hour! Still very nasty, but steady as she goes and we got home without further incident.
Never again.

Glad you're both back in one piece. The 'red zone' snow warning (50cm overnight) was forecast for the SW of England last night, so getting back home's an achievement.

The snow situation has got slightly better here today.

However, today has brought a slight thawing, which I knew would make it very difficult for Bremby. Her legs are weak these days and she's wobbly at the best of times and only has very short walks.

The snow is still quite deep on our cul de sac. Then got compacted. Then the slight thaw combined with freezing temperatures again this evening and we have an evil coating of slippery ice atop the snow. Had to keep steadying her back legs. And then got to the point where I had to carry her over the ice to get to the snowy bit where she can get a little more grip.

Can't wait for this lot to sod off.

We’ve had flurry’s over the last few days, about 2” in my garden and the local park but all the local roads and pavements are pretty clear now. I was supposed to be going over to see my mate in The Forest of Dean but they are very close to a Red snow warning so I am very reluctantly staying put today.

I'm relatively close to the forest (20 miles) and honestly mate I'd have advised against it. I've got about 8" of snow in the garden and local main roads by me are pretty impassable. My lad had a 35 mile commute last night and almost piled the car when he lost the back end on a roundabout. Local hills are blocked with stuck HGV's.

Staying put = a wise move, Pauly.

Drifts up to about 4 foot in the forest towns and surrounding high ground. Theres a car buried in Cinderford! Monmouth has less, but drifting, and its still snowing.

I'll cut Paul some slack, it's an easy mistake to make TWICE. So, bottoms up fence club sounds interesting as long as there are no broke back corner connections
