Cool Sussex Interclub HFT 2018 - Round 2 Results

    Hi Everyone

Apologies for the naff formatting of the results below. Major battle going on between both my PCs and the thread posting tools. BBS is winning this battle 2:0 at the moment.

Here we go with a brief commentary and the results from today’s foray in to a completely new field (quite literally) when Ford Ranges HFT crew hosted Round 2 of the 2018 SIHFT.

Setting a course in otherwise entirely open ground has not been seen in the SIHFT since the series’ earliest year at Swallows FTC, when ‘all’ they had was grassland. The odd fallen tree branch was dragged in to play but other features had to be man-made. Some may think this simple compared with the intricacies of threading lanes between trees; WRONG!! So well done Fordies for your hard work in setting a course both interesting and challenging. The breeze (but not the more usual Ford gale) played its part.

A great crowd (83 total entries) descended on Ford to compete for this SIHFT round which was combined with the final round of the 17/18 Southern Hunters.

Congrats to today’s leader – Kev – with a superb 58, closely followed by Lewis and Si with a 57 apiece.

The new SIHFT badges arrived today. If you were unable to collect yours, whether for Round 1 at Ford a couple of weeks ago or for today, there will be no problems if you ask us when we meet again for Round 3.

And now the BBS won't let me edit the results post. Have no idea what's going wrong.

All I was intending to do was add in missing detail of the Bonus Bunny and Air Arms Goodie Bag winners.

Nigel Buchan won the £41 cash, and

Danny Roff won a Goodie Bag

Thanks to Russ for the response to my call for help

Thanks Richard and the rest of the Ford crew for a brilliant course and an excellent day's shooting - and of course all the Southern Hunters and SIHFT guys and girls for ensuring today ran so well.

    Roll on Round 3!

    Thanks Fordies,

Great morning's enjoyment but I think I brought the wrong rifle (or left my brain at home). I couldn't get the hang of that at all. Great effort in an open field - must have been really difficult to set that course - and much fun had by all at Horsham Hawks. Well done...

    Many thanks,

    Phil

Good day out and hopefully get to shoot the next one.
Thank you very much to the kind gent that gave me a replacement barrel seal after I shot mine into the field on, unlucky for some, peg 13.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I must admit we were a bit worried when we realised what we were able to use - a field and one direction to shoot in!

All praise to the Fordies who put 40 man hours of effort in to set that up, we were very pleased with the result.

Talking of results, how did the Ford League end up? Hoping i can put that boinger away for a long, long time

I really enjoyed my monthly visits to Ford for the Winter Open Series; so much so that I'll be coming along for the Summer one - hopefully with Don Vickers, who has just discovered the delights of .22 as well

I really, really enjoyed last Sundays course in the field - and it was a lot softer to lay down on than the concrete

Thanks guys for an excellent day. Score of 34 was an improvement from my first outing at Buxted where I got 30. Next target score is 38!
