    Webley Oil Can Valuation

Dear knowledgeable members of the BBS collectors corner what is the going rate for one of these? Post war orange background, yellow lettering with combination top and spout second type Chris Thrale's book page 218. In good to very good condition. Yes I know you want photos but cant get them yet. Just want a ball park figure.

Whilst you are at it and now I have your attention valuations please for:

    Pack of Webley playing cards
    Abas Major excellent original condition
    Acvoke also excellent
    Tell II excellent
    Westley Richards HP warn finish.

    Many thanks in anticipation.
I know what I think they are worth but need a sense check.

I would more or less agree with those figures, except for the Highest Possible. So in a private sale:

Abas Major: £700 + (higher for wood grip) - assuming excellent condition
Tell II: £120-150 - assuming excellent condition
    Acvoke: £180 - 220 - assuming excellent condition
Highest Possible: £700 - if it is only the bluing that has worn off and there is no pitting, and the lettering is still sharp. More for the earlier smooth horn grip version.

    Cheers,
    John

    Oil Can

I have just sold one for £176. It was only in fair to good condition, I have kept my other one which is in excellent condition, got that one from a nice old chap who said he bought it new when he got a Webley Senior in about 1953.
    Regards Paul.
PS I also bought his Senior as well

Sorry, can't help with the rest but I have a nice Acvoke .177 in very good order and I wouldn't accept a penny under £200.

Can't hit a barn door with it mind !

That particular Webley oil can seems to sell for between £150 - £250 on Eb@y depending on condition, although they have on the odd occasion sold for more.
