just wondering if anyone who uses benchrest sandbags if they damp the sand now and then -- when I first filled my sandbag the sand was damp and it held shape much better now its dryed out it just flops and don't hold shape any thoughts on this

In my Protektor bags, I used 110 grade silica sand.

Back in my bench rest days I was advised to use a special sand, can't remember the name but it was heavier than the normal stuff and black in colour.
Remember, it is the strongest character that God gives the most challenges.
I have no interest or knowledge on bench rest, BUT back when I used to shoot 3 positional, we stuffed the kneeling rolls with bird seed.
