    airsporter age

    just picked up a nice airsporter mk2 serial number GD23464 wen I've looked it up it say 1959/1965 can this be tracked down to the right year ?

    Would like to know this as well mine is GD18854.

    Someone several years ago started a serial number log on Mk1 and Mk2s. He had over 200 rifles reporting.

    G:- total 39 - 10429 to 32880

    I would says yours dates from the start of Beatlemenia?

    As far as I am aware, Knibbs International retains all production records for the early Airsporters and BSAs, however, I may be wrong but believe there will be a fee charged by them for researching the records and providing you with the info you seek. Might be a good idea to contact them and seek information from them as to what kind of information they can provide you with, for example, will records confirm the production date, (ie, day/month/year) the dispatch date or whatever.

    looks like the airsporter i picked up on Sunday is going back tryed it last night at my gunclub seems to have a problem with the trigger it seems to travel all the way then right at the back it's very hard to squeeze tryed adjusting the screw clock wise and the under leaver doesn't catch and anti clock wise doesn't make any difference any info would be good

    Simple to remove the stock (2 screws) then you can see the Trigger and sears working, it's as about as simple as a simple thing, so you may be able to see why it's not working!
