    Hw35 variant

    Any hw35 anoraks on here?
Just got a near perfect condition hw35 e
It has a standard length barrel with a walnut stock barrel and stock fixings for strap chequered grip with cap and white spacer .The butt plate appears to be a solid plastic affair with white spacer. After a bit of research on tinternet it appears to be a gun made for the American company beaman.
Would this be correct? If so what's it worth cheers

The HW35EB as built for Beeman had a 19" barrel.

The E only denotes a Walnut stock, and there is evidence that some European Es were sold with 19" barrels.

Does your stock have a small checkered triangle on the underside of the stock just forward of the trigger guard as it sounds like it's an early one with the solid butt pad ?

    All the best Mick

    Hw35

Your rifle is a35d/l and should have a Bavarian style stock.

It sounds like a late sixties/ early seventies model to me with the butt pad being plastic.
Like Mick says,it’s probably got the extra chequering under the fore end.

The Exports,Standard & Luxus models were all available with the 22” barrel as an option with the 500mm as standard.

It is a nice example of an early HW35E,note the “W” shape chequering on the pistol grip & extra portion on the underside.

The early Luxus model has a rounded pistol grip with chequering & no cap with hogs back the Export has a Monte Carlos cheek piece;both have Walnut stocks.

I thought that the model with the rounded pistol grip and a grove each side of the fore end made from beech was the standard one . Then you had the luxus with the same style stock as the export but made from beech and a 19inc barrel, and the export had the wallnut stock ,22inc barrel and sling swivels .

The 35s is the standard model in Beech as you say, the early Luxus is in Walnut as IJ's lovely example. The later Luxus is also Walnut but no finger grooves & sporter cheekpiece.

Sling swivels are on both the Luxus & Export with an option of the 22" barrel.

Early UK advertising mislead people into thinking the Export was only in .22 with the super long 22" barrel which is not correct.
