N-140. I used varget in my 308 and when I moved over to the vihtavouri powder it was a very similar load.
Hi what powder are you using to replace Varget.
I'm reloading 30 cal 243 and 22-250
it and um covers most problems in life

Same here, Vit N140.
Use it in my 6mmbr and .224 weatherby , also used it in my .243 when I had that.
For heavier bullets in .243 (over 80gn) N160 is recommended.
RS52 performs very like varget, but its double based. Perhaps if you list intended bullet weights so you can get more detailed answers
Do nothing, achieve nothing
We have all moved onto the Lovex powders
I haven't, I've still got around 10 tubs of Varget left!

No longer Pumpin Oil but still Passin Gas!
To be honest there are elements of Nitro in most powders these days. RS52 is not a conventional DB powder by formulation but it is very good with temp stability and producing high velocities without nasty spikes.
I used circa 450 rounds of 5.56 with it last week at the Imperial with temps topping 32 degrees with no surprises.

These two can use the same powder, I used to use H4895 but now use N140 or Reloder 15 for this role.
I use Reloder 17 / Reload Swiss RS 60 ( same powder) to get much better velocity in these exact two combinations than I would with a powder of the above burn rate.
If you wanted to use just one powder for all four, Reloder 15/ N140 would be my recommendation but RL17/RS60 gives amazing results in the 243 and 3006 with the heavier bullets you are using, 100fps over other powders with no extra pressure.

Try the Lovex powders. Our local guy sells it and its great, cheaper than vit too. still getting great results and i was a Varget super fan

That's i got got good deal on 3.5KG of N140. From Fox Firearms cheaper than Hannams
It depends how it is added. RS Powders are steeped in the stuff so it is very equally distributed. I cant see how it would be unstable, it is certainly less spikey and more forgiving, seeing a lot of use in CSR for heavier bullets.
The only downside with any DB powder might be slightly accellerated throat wear and cracking but we will get that regardless because of rapid 10 shot strings with little cooling I am afraid.
IF it is slightly temp unstable, which I was told it wasnt, in normal British weather we probably would not notice.
