    Original mod 6

Hi guys, after a bit of advice for my Dad please.

He's just bought the above pistol in bits at auction, his query is regarding the internals. He seems to have two tubes that fir inside the pistons, but this seem to be for the mod 10 and not the 6, is this correct, also the spring seems very long for the model, any idea of the correct length please?

    Thanks

I repair these but do not have one to hand at the moment. There are two sheet metal tube sleeves that fit over the spring ends and fit into the pistons. There should be 3 springs, one large diameter which is quite long for a pistol, and two smaller diameter that fit over a spring guide rod that sits inside the large spring.

I think the internal compression parts, springs, pistons etc, are identical for the Diana mods 6 and 10. The long spring is long as I recall, hence the rod to stop it buckling. It needs to be long because space is tight and the diameter is small.

Very easy to work on and assemble, but piston seals can be expensive.

There is a strip guide to the Mod 10, which is very similar, over in Collectables, Idiots Guide sticky, post 127. It may help.
Otherwise Neil Price did strips of the Mod 6 and 6M i Airgunner Aug 2011 and June 2013.
If the Mod 10 guide is no good to you, I will look for Neil's offerings for you and try to get a scan.
