IVe been reading a lot about restoring air rifles on here of late so I thought that Ill have ago. I set to work on a hw35. I took every last screw out so I was left with what looked like a pile of old junk. Althought the action still looks tatty the workings are very good. The stock was taken back to bare wood and oiled. I also oiled the leather washer with STP son of a gun protectant and polished the inside of the cyclinder and piston. The trigger unit was cleaned out with carburettor & choke cleaner then lightly greased with Comma constant velocity grease. Then the new spring was greased with the same Comma grease. Now I know that some will say that Im using the wrong stuff but this is good gear. Now the next step is to buy a chrono to see whats happening. ( Im gutted that I never had one before I started because I will never know if Ive made it better or worse). Im pleased with my work so be gentle with your comments.

Nice one mate
Stock is perhaps a little too 'blonde' for my tastes, I'd have used a little stain to tone it down a tad and bring out the grain - but then again I always prefer the allure of a dark and sultry woman
I'm currently refinishing a grade 3 Harrier SE stock - and bricking it in case I balls it up![]()

Keep up the good work

Yer your right its a little to light for me also. Ita all trial & error for me @ the moment. Saying that Im pleased with the outcome just need a bit more practice. A few cheap rifles would'nt go amiss.Originally Posted by Geordie
