A cracking day's sport, thank you Swallows
See you all next week at Ford.

Hi All
Yet another scorcher of a day, with far too little breeze. Thankfully, none of the pegs were out in the open sunshine, but it remained swelteringly hot in the woods; or it certainly felt that way to me wearing my minimalist Air Arms fleece (cooler than my winter cammo jacket) and running around checking targets for the first hour or so.
Chrono checks continue, this time with Vince among the chosen and heard to mutter “don’t they realise I’m a marshal”. All passed the test, conducted under the watchful eye of Charles and between booking in and the starting gun/whistle.
Hope you all enjoyed the course, which included a few more narrow lanes (between trees) than we’ve used in the past. That probably explains the top score being limited to a stunning 58 from Jelly (Jellie?) and nearly equaled by a trio (Roger, Howard and Vince) of 57s.
Here is the full set of results ….. Note that I often do not include the “Handicap” column (Hscore), but have done so this time to explain the net 56 from Primary Class Wes M, taking him in to a Team position for Mile Oak

Nearly forgot to mention that today saw two more SIHFTers offered a Platinum badge for achieving 5 Golds - Roger Dibbens and Andy Simpson. Well done both.
Please let me know a.s.a.p. if you spot anything you think is amiss. BBS PM or email or Facebook message all welcome.
Prize drawer winners today were, after quite a lot of ‘no-shows’ as score cards were pulled from the sack :
• After multiple (“They’ve gone home”) cards were drawn, Paul Blaxall won the £30 cash prize, and
• Kevin McMenamin took home today’s Air Arms goody bag
With another solid win, Buxted move one more point clear at the top of the team table:
Club Round 7 Cumulative Points
Buxted 284 82
Oaks 271 79
Meon Valley 270 65
Swallows 263 51
Ford 257 56
Horsham 249 56
Iden Fern 226 42
Maldon 141 48
Horsham, Iden Fern and MAD all required lucky-dip cards today. 2 for Horsham, 1 for Iden Fern and the max 3 making up MADs entire team score.
Next round (8) of the SIHFT is in just 1 week – on Sunday 12th August and hosted by our flatlanders at Ford Ranges. Will there be wind? According to Metcheck, I may be able to wear my cooler weather outfit, with a forecast showing top temp under 20C and following a whole bunch of wet stuff while Richard, Steb and the crew are course setting on Saturday.
To encourage your attendance, I will update the SIHFT year-to-date BBS thread with the individual performance table following Round 7 very shortly. After a quick glance, I think I could see quite a few movers and shakers as more of you have now shot at least 6 scoring rounds.

You come into this world with nothing, go out in debt and you've made a profit
Sounds as if it was a great day!
Mike, you really ought to take more layers off - you might feel a tad more comfortable in this heat!!!!!!
Sad I couldn't make it, was M.A.D.'s monthly which I offered to run as Richard is in the Czech Republic.
Unfortunately, I can't make next week either as I have a long standing family commitment.
Have fun and see you all soon X

Late post of gratitude V sorry Swallows, rushed off sharpish again, I know I know, the sun was out so I wanted to get my solar imaging gear set up asap.
Loved the weather, course, 3rd partner (Trevor Palmer) & my lads cheek, cost me a £5 bet he wouldn't get the elevated bird at peg 26 (I think) free standing
Happy to shoot with Trevor anytime a really nice guy.
Looking forward to next week already.
