I’m going to have a ‘Birmingham gun shop run’ in the next few weeks. I’ll start first thing Saturday morning and just keep ‘shop hopping’ until I run out of shops in the Brum area. I’ll do a google search and compile a list of gun shops, but If anybody here knows of some ‘must do’ shops, please let me know and I’ll make sure I call in to them

    Thanks

    Thanks T 20,

I rang them last week, they hold no stock and order in to order. So they can't help me sadly

Blackpool guns were showing some hope as they told me what I was asking for was not really a problem, and they had plenty of stock to chose from. But when they checked, what they had was quite plane. Most shops just tell me beech has no grain and I should be looking into walnut. As a trained cabinet maker, I know beech has a grain and can look very nice. This fact was nicely illustrated by a shop last Friday. I rang them and asked about beech, I was told beech is plane and all looks the same, but they had a REALLY nice second hand one in stock to sell me !! So how can they all be the same, but somehow they had "a really nice one" ready to go in SH??

    So my hunt continues.

It's such a pity my local shop trashed the one they have, as it was/is beautiful!!

Thanks for any help you guys can give me, it really is appreciated, even if I'm coming off as a pain in the ass and/or annoying. All I want is a nice stock

    P.S.
T 20, is Miss Sunbeam's BBS membership application anywhere near ready yet? She sent it in about a week and a half ago.

Thoughts are with you mate, as a mutual friend of ours told me when i lost patch "the one thing the good lord got wrong was the lifespan of a dog in relation to its owner."
