    Its NOT C.O.AL. it is....

C.O.L. CARTRIDGE OVERALL LENGTH. Overall is one word.

I know I'm being picky but incorrect terminology has a habit of being picked up and used too often.

    Bullet heads, are bullets.
Recoil shield is the breech face,

I can't think any others at the moment!

May I venture to add "muzzle brake" (NOT "break"), and "coup de grace" (NOT "coup de gras")?

ft/lbs when meaning ft-lbs (admittedly I see it used less often since a certain airgun magazine mended it's ways)

Technically speaking, seeing as we are being pedantic, it is ft.lb (sometimes ft.lbs or ft.lbf), not ft/lbs or ft-lbs (or even ft/lbf or ft-lbf) and never in this context lbf.ft
Good deals with: svincett, dave milne, Muskett, Dreben, roger.kerry, TALL, Helidave1, Chelseablue, Leeroy7031, Mousemann, pnuk, Practical, NEWFI, HOOGS, Webb22, lazybones1416 and deanw5262 among others. Thanks Guys.

Depends on which schools you went to. and I believe both are correct. The . and the - are interchangeable in this context and sometimes the - is preferable as in Newton-metre or kilowatt-hour. I think we are agreed that ft/lb is always wrong.

No, the recoil shield is the raised area of a revolver frame at the rear of the cylinder that prevents the cartridges in the cylinder from being dumped out of the chambers from the recoil of a round firing....

Ah, 'coup de grace', French for lawn mower. Also, 'apéritif' - a 'set of dentures', and finally 'pas de deux', 'father of twins'.

I may aswell vent that I hate it when people talk about “kick back” in reference to recoil.
