    Surprised about gun's performance

What gun as surprised you in the way it as performed??, shooting manners- handling and cost.
I have a Brocock Independent that always puts a smile on my face, a great handling and performing rifle for not much money. My BSA Ultra Se is another gun that is very accurate and reliable.
What gun as surprised you chaps??.
    Regards
    Les..

Gamo CFX in .177, incredibly accurate with a wide range of pellets, just a shame the triggers not a little better

    Kindest regards

In the late 60s as a teenager I bought a new Haenel 302 in .177 calibre. It was a brilliant air rifle, much more powerful than the 600fps it was advertised as and incredibly accurate using the open sights.
It cost £8.19.6 which was cheaper than a Meteor and a Relum Tornado and miles better than either of them and was less than half the price of a Webley Mk3 and a BSA Airsporter and probably performed better than even these.
I remember writing to D R Hughes who advertised Weihrauchs etc in a booklet, recommending the Haenel and he subsequently included them in his publication. For the money it's possibly the best air rifle ever made.

Funny you should mention Haenel Graeme, they have a range on centrefire rifles out at the moment I have been looking at.

I have a cheap plastic Biathlon Trainer rifle with cheap plastic dioptic sights. I bought it years ago for messing around shooting targets when I had a flat. It cost me 50 quid and is so ridiculously accurate its unbelievable. I'll have to bring it to the next bash for a crack at the bell target!!!!

    Smk

SMK PW900 I bought one in.177 and it is very accurate and running at 11.5 with Crosman heavies.
It also runs very well on Polymags.
Fettled the trigger and put sling swivels on it,a 10mm silencer adaptor and Hog mod.
Far better than expected,so much so that i have bought another in .22 ..accurate and at 11.7 with AA field.
I was going to build a small Rapid ,but now i won't bother these two will do the jobs i need them for.
Shot a few rabbits and pigeons with the .177, not used the.22 in the field yet.

Daystate Grand Prix - cost me a fortune. Surprised me how absolutely inconsistent and inaccurate such an expensive rifle could be!

Crosman 2100. Looks cheap. Was cheap. BUT the lack of recoil and accuracy makes it sooooo much fun to plink with.

A £20 mk2 Airsporter I picked up a few years ago.. it had been painted with bbq paint and the stock was badly beaten up... it's more than earned it's spot as my favourite rifle ... I keep meaning to give it a facelift but I don't want to spoil the way it shoots!

My current rifle a 'HW80' after hearing all the horror stories of massive weight, sluggish and twangy firing cycles and difficulties with accuracy it's actually turned out to be completely the opposite...

No twang with quite a snappy firing cycle and although heavier 'on paper' than my previous springer (TXhc) it actually handles very well and carries the extra weight far better than the TX ever did...

And although not the cheapest at 250 used it's been the best 250 quid I've ever spent on a rifle...
