Think he was just waiting for you to put your teeth back in, Pete!
Sorry I haven't jumped in earlier in this thread, but I haven't been with it of late.
Loveliest classic looking rifles.....got to agree with the Airsporter. Not the slabby blonde ones, mind.
And, of course, a most beautiful 35E with gorgeous grain on show.
THE BOINGER BASH AT QUIGLEY HOLLOW. MAKING GREAT MEMORIES SINCE 15th JUNE, 2013.
NEXT EVENT :- May 17/18, 2025.........BOING!!
Even I.J. hasn't chosen his love of his life the HW35. Even with great wood as in the early 35E its still a snub nosed porpoise.
Its the FWB MKII, if I could put up my normal pin up of it then there wouldn't be any argument.
The Original 50 is certainly an elegant rifle, as is the Webley MKIII. Some BSA's if you must. The older HW95 Luxus might have made it but for the moderator; the new one isn't nicer. But for pure lines and has "it" the FWB Sport MKII has it in oodles.
Always keen to please.

And how about this. I swapped this LEFT HAND Export stock on here a while ago and only recently decided to see what was under the nasty brown varnish. This:

I think the mk1 hw85 luxus is a handsome gun, it's like a little 80 in a 77 stock, it's a little cracker, atb Daz
Hw85 for me had it for 20 ish years and still shoots better than me
Some HW35E wood was fab.
HW85 pics please. Can someone host my Sport picture, it has my favourite combo with Optima 4x40 scope and Apel mounts?

I think this thread has gone slightly off target ( ) Its '.... your favourite classic LOOKING springer ....'
Ive a couple of nice looking airguns, the A A Pro Sport is one of them
but its not the nicest rifle I have to shoot. The honour of what is the best rifle TO SHOOT must go to some of the Walther break barrel match rifles.
Nicest full power rifle to shoot? HW77K.
Nicest full power rifle to cock and shoot - FWB Sport .22 Mk 1 or 2.
All I.M.O. and all slightly tuned. I am also willing to be persuaded otherwise.

I'm with you there I.J.
For pure elegance of line then the Sport wins, but it isn't the best air rifle, mainly because of its indifferent trigger.
The Original 45 was so nearly there if they had have just gone one step further with the wood and checkering to finish it off, but they never did.
A 12ft/lbs rifle really shouldn't be when scoped over 8lbs in weight, well not for a sporting rifle. Annoyingly anything that is reasonably easy to shoot accurately is nearer 9lbs.

The 045 trigger is far worse than the FWB
