As it's a scarce 2nd. pattern with what looks to be a good stock, even in that condition I would have thought £450 wouldn't be unreasonable, although I am sure others may give a different valuation.
I just took a couple of hours cleaning up this .22 rifle for Kempton. It shoots well, has the peep sight but no blade and wheel adjuster in the back sight. The stock is in very good condition and the metal is not pitted. Serial number S1135. Ideas on value ?

Thanks estimate, would be very pleased to get that.

A man can always use more alcohol, tobacco and firearms.
Didn't do one of my glossy super jobs as I haven't got time, but I could have it in a shiny silver (white) version tout suite.

There you go Baz, looks like you may already have a buyer.

Been reading the "Living" Bible version today, and Proverbs chapter 20 verse 14 made me think of Kempton yesterday when I sold the Webley. Peter said value is around £650 and I sold it for £380.

Pete you missed my point, was not unhappy with the sale, the guy who owned it still made a big profit, was thinking how true the proverb is. Quoting it " the buyer says it isn't worth much, look at all the faults. Then goes away and boasts "look at this great bargain I got !"

Peter, I am known for being a bit slow by certain friends. Was surprised that guys who were really interested in the rifle wanted to knock it down from the 450 I asked. If I want something, especially if it is a fair price I go for it. £50 is soon long forgotten when overtaken by the pleasure of ownership. Liked your illustration of Hitlers pyjamas.
